Shipping Policy

What actually happens between placing a Holiday Harbor order and the parcel arriving, written in the order customers usually ask about it: where we deliver, when we pack, how long the carrier takes and who to tell if something goes wrong.

Where we ship

Holiday Harbor posts to street addresses, PO boxes and military APO/FPO addresses across the United States. We do not ship outside the country, and we cannot hand a parcel to a forwarding agent so it can be sent on elsewhere.

That limit is deliberate rather than an oversight. Once a parcel leaves the country we lose the ability to chase it, to replace it cheaply or to honour the return window, so we would rather say no at the checkout than take an order we cannot stand behind.

Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories are served, but on a slower lane that usually adds two to three working days to every figure below. If you are ordering from Canada or Mexico the parcel will be refused at the border, so please check the delivery country before confirming.

An address outside our delivery area is refused by the checkout before any payment is taken, so nobody ends up charged for an order we cannot dispatch.

When your order is packed

Orders confirmed before 3pm on a business day are picked, packed and labelled the same day. Anything placed after that, or at a weekend, waits for the next business day. The cut-off is set by the last carrier collection, so an order that misses it is held safely indoors rather than left outside the warehouse overnight.

The warehouse works Monday to Friday and closes on public holidays, which is why a Friday evening order begins its journey on the next business day rather than over the weekend. If a decoration needs a second check for a light count or a controller, the parcel is held for one more business day and the customer is emailed with the revised dispatch date.

How long delivery takes

Ground delivery takes 3 to 5 business days from the moment the carrier scans the parcel. Working days are Monday to Friday and exclude public holidays, so the upper end of that window can span a full calendar week.

Rural routes, mountain districts and the island territories usually sit at the slower end of that range because the parcel passes through more sorting stages.

Once a parcel is in the network we cannot reroute it, upgrade it to a faster service or hold it at a depot for collection. A single national carrier handles every parcel This keeps tracking consistent across every order, which matters more to us than offering a premium tier we could not reliably deliver.

If you are working towards a fixed date, tell us before you buy. We would rather lose the sale than promise a delivery day the carrier cannot hold.

What shipping costs

Standard carriage is free once the merchandise total reaches $48 before tax. Below that figure a single flat rate is added at the checkout, and nothing further is charged for packing or handling.

There is no per-item surcharge. Adding a second small item to the same order costs nothing extra in postage, because the parcel was going to be sent anyway.

No express option exists. Every order travels on the same tracked ground service, which keeps the promise simple and the pricing predictable.

The threshold is measured on the discounted subtotal before tax, not on the total including tax, so a basket that sits just under the line is often cheaper to top up than to pay the flat rate on.

Tracking your parcel

A tracking number is emailed as soon as the carrier scans the parcel, normally within 24 hours of dispatch. That scan is the point at which the carrier takes responsibility, which is why we wait for it rather than issuing a number at the packing bench.

The tracking page refreshes when the parcel passes a sorting hub, not continuously. A page that has not changed for a day does not necessarily mean anything is wrong.

If nothing has moved for two working days, send us the order reference and we will raise a trace with the carrier ourselves. It is usually quicker than asking you to phone them, because we have the account and the paperwork.

Holiday Harbor will tell you the outcome either way, including when the answer is that the carrier has declared the parcel lost.

If a parcel is late, lost or damaged

Email support@modellasale.shop with the order reference and, where you can, a photograph of the parcel and its contents. Photographs settle most claims faster than a description, because the carrier's form asks for them anyway.

Keep the outer box and the internal packing until the case is closed. Carriers sometimes ask to inspect the packaging, and a claim can stall without it.

We deal with the carrier on your behalf rather than asking you to open the case yourself. Once a claim is confirmed we offer a replacement or a refund, whichever suits you better.

If a replacement is not available because the item has sold out, you will hear that from us directly rather than discovering it when nothing arrives.

Changing an address after ordering

An address can be corrected while the order is still on the packing bench. Email the order reference and the complete corrected address as soon as you notice the mistake.

Once the carrier has scanned the label the destination is fixed. Neither we nor the carrier can amend it at that point, and a parcel sent to the old address will follow the old address.

If a parcel comes back because the address was incomplete, or because nobody was there to receive it, we contact you to arrange a second dispatch. That second carriage is payable by the customer, because the cost falls on us the moment the first attempt fails.

Where the mistake was ours, the second dispatch is on us, and we will say so plainly rather than charging you for our error.

Orders sent in more than one parcel

We hold stock for the whole order and send it in a single parcel wherever we can, so a mixed basket does not turn up in pieces without warning.

If one item is temporarily unavailable, we email before dispatch and give you three choices: wait for the item, swap it for something else, or take it off the order and have the rest sent now.

Nothing is part-shipped silently. A parcel that arrives without an explanation is more alarming than a short delay, and the email takes us a minute to write.

Where an order genuinely has to travel as two consignments, the second carriage is not charged and each parcel gets its own tracking number.

Questions about delivery

If anything about a delivery is unclear, write to support@modellasale.shop with the order reference and we will answer within one working day, Monday to Friday.

Include the date you need the item by, if there is one. That single detail changes the answer more often than anything else in the email.

We would rather answer a question before you order than untangle a problem afterwards, so there is no harm in asking about a tight deadline.

If a delivery has already gone wrong, tell us what you have seen so far. Even a partial picture usually tells us which stage the parcel has stalled at.
